How is it December? October was an unforgettable month at Samantha Elizabeth Hair Salon. They say things run in threes – well, let's hope we have had our 3 disasters for the rest of the year. Thank you to all customers who were a part of our chaotic month and were very kind and understanding. My team was also incredibly supportive amongst all the drama – which involved plumbing and water – and I couldn't be more grateful. We had a photographer take a few shots of the salon and us as a team, as well as new head shots for the website and socials, so that was fun mixed in with the drama. And our reception area is nearly complete, and we are all loving how much more space we have created with the new desk and shelving – sneak peek below.
We know the cost of living is rising. I believe in helping one another and being kind – after all, it's happening to us all. Our supplier costs have been risen but for the moment we are managing this. We are out of contract with our energy supplier and I have decided to find out exactly how much our bills will be in monetary terms before I decide what we might have to do about our prices. Also, as a team we have sat down and discussed how we can cut back in various areas, so we can maintain our current pricing for as long as possible. So, what else has been happening? We’re pleased to say our two newest team members, Laura Stylist and Cydney Apprentice, are settling in well. Georgia had a wonderful wedding day. She looked stunning and says it was the best day of her life. Georgia also has been promoted to Advance Stylist. Her promotion will take effect in January 2023 as we like to give her customers notice. Chelsea, our advance stylist, is still signed off by the doctors and sends all her clients her love. We are still no clearer on her return date, but we will keep you all posted when we know more. Can you believe that we celebrated our 6th Anniversary/Birthday on 29th November? Your multi-award winning salon We won not 1, not 2 but 3 awards this year – which means we’ve won 6 salon awards over the past few years! AND… I have more exciting news to share But I’ll do that next year.................. Oh, ok I’ll share now: I got engaged. My fiancé proposed while we were on holiday in Italy. It was the most magical day and one I will never forget. Overall, I’m pleased to say that 2022 has been kind to us. This will be our last newsletter of the year, so we wish you all a happy holiday period and we look forward to seeing you in 2023. EXCITING NEWS
Ella is taking two sabbaticals next year. She is going to Bali for one month in April 2023! Dates: 9th April - 4th May 2023 Her first day back will be Thursday 5th May 2023 In August 2023 she is going to Australia for one month. Dates: 6th August - 4th September 2023 Her first day back from her second trip will be Monday 5th September She is also taking 3 weeks holiday entitlement, so in total will not be working for 11 weeks next year. I am so excited she is fulfilling her dream in travel. It's such a fantastic opportunity one we have to do young. I also went traveling at 23, honestly it was the best experience. She will be safe as she is doing both trips with an organized company. She has written a blog on her journey within the company for me a while back. Go read her blog next, it's a great read. We're now in the most wonderful (and busy!) time of the year and we have limited appointment availability but doing our best to fit in as many people as possible. Samantha has opened her diary on extra days, Wednesday 14th December Friday 16th December Friday 23rd December, to open up more space, as she is already fully booked. Ella is fully booked but has opened up an extra day on Wednesday 21st December. And we have opened up a cancellation list, so please call 01444 459009 if you would like to be added. If for whatever reason you can’t make your appointment, or you wish to change your service, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the time to someone on the waiting list. Thank you. Tip of the Month
Winter weather can wreak havoc on your hair! The hoodies, sweaters, and scarfs can cause your hair to go static and frizzy. To tackle this, use a vented hair brush that has a combination of plastic and boar bristles while combing your hair. Wash your hair with lukewarm water as hot water can strip away your hair's natural oils. Finally, apply a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair shining.
