April has arrived! It feels like ages since our last newsletter (just before Christmas!), so I thought it was about time for a proper catch-up. You might even get another one later this month… depending on when Baby Tucci decides to make an appearance.
As most of you know, Thursday 2nd April was my last day on the salon floor before maternity leave. I had my heart set on getting to 37 weeks—and I did it! Thank you so much for bearing with me towards the end… I know I was definitely a bit slower with my waddle.
I also just want to say a huge thank you for all the lovely messages, cards and gifts. Baby T has been completely spoilt (and so have I!), and I’m honestly so grateful.
Maternity Leave & Return
I don’t have an exact return date just yet, but Antony and I are thinking I’ll be off for around 6 months, aiming to come back October time. I’ll keep you all updated properly nearer the time.
When I do return, the current plan, I’ll be doing clients:
Mondays
Thursdays
One Saturday a month
On Wednesday 1st April, Antony and I (along with my parents) took the team out for a lovely meal at The Bent Arms. It was such a nice evening—Baby T was absolutely spoilt with beautiful gifts from the team, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for every single one of them. It just reminded me how lucky I am to have such an amazing team, and I know the salon is in very safe hands while I’m away 🤍
A LITTLE SALON UPDATE
Louise and Travis headed to London in March to represent us at the Salon Business Awards, where we were finalists for Business Salon of the Year 2026. But sadly we didn't win.
With our 10 year anniversary coming up in November, this felt really special. It’s a bit of a “pinch me” moment thinking about how far we’ve come.
From the beginning, I always wanted to create a salon that felt different—where the team works together, supports each other, and where you as clients feel looked after no matter who you’re with. That employed team culture is so important to me, and I’m really proud of what we’ve built.
Over the last few years especially, I’ve also focused a lot on creating better balance for the team—making sure they’re not burnt out and actually enjoy their work and their life outside the salon.
TEAM NEWS
Lots going on behind the scenes!
Louise is stepping into an Assistant Manager role in addition to being a senior stylist while I’m off. She’s been with me 8 years now, and I’ve always known she’d end up in a management position. This is a big step, but I know she’s more than ready.
Cydney has officially moved up to Stylist joining Travis
Mia has completed her Level 2 apprenticeship and will now be on the salon floor on selected days. Louise will oversee her work while she builds confidence.
We also welcomed Eleanor (Ellie) back in January, and she has honestly fitted in like she’s always been here. She’s super talented and has already been to the Wella Academy three times, plus our Grey Blending course in February—which was amazing. We’ve all been using the techniques since and the results have been unreal.Eleanor has been with us just over 3 months and specialises in all things blonde. She is our newest Senior Stylist.
PRICE UPDATE
As we mentioned in our email on 19th March, we’ve had to make a price increase across all services.
We’ve tried to hold off for as long as possible, but with the rising costs of running a fully employed salon, it was something we couldn’t avoid. I know things are tough for everyone at the moment, so thank you so much for your understanding and continued support—it really means everything to us.
