Healthy Hair Tip 2

How to have healthy hair when swimming.

You’re right ladies, chlorine is NOT your friend especially if we have coloured

hair! So, let’s help with three important tips about hair protection when swimming and also take a look at the shampoos we would recommend to keep your hair healthy and looking great.

One of the best ways to protect your hair in the pool is to start with the

precautions you take pre-pool.

1: Wet your hair before you enter the swimming pool. This will reduce the

chlorine saturation.

2: Buy a swim hat (if you wear a hat then put a hydrating conditioner on beforehand, or alternatively, use an oil on your hair first then place the hat on your head. This is what I do when I swim.)

3: Wash your hair immediately after swimming to remove the chlorine. Making sure you wash your hair straight after swimming is KEY to protecting your hair

against the dreaded chlorine.

To keep your hair in best condition when swimming, we recommend a clarifying/purifying shampoo. We particularly like two products:

Wella Professionals Pure Purifying Shampoo (£10.40) is enriched with natural bamboo extract that works to strip the hair of residue left behind by styling products and environmental pollutants, leaving hair hydrated and thoroughly

cleansed. ... You simply massage it into damp hair and work into a lather.

Moroccan Oil Clarifying Shampoo (£18.95) is designed to remove build-up from styling products, hard water and mineral deposits such as chlorine. It cleanses the hair and scalp thoroughly, and the formula nourishes and replenishes the hair by restoring elasticity, health and softness, which helps for easier manageability when styling too.
